Honesty & Ethics -- Group Apollo question

As a PR person, the main responsibility is to solve the problems of the organization he represents. But, from the other angle, he also has to be honest which will sometimes cause damage to the organization he represents. So how could a successful PR person solve this dilemma?

In my view, one of the most important roles of a PR person is to manage the image of the organization they represent. In order to do this effectively, you need to develop an emergency plan for when things do go wrong. When a crisis comes along and your company has done something that will make it look bad, go to the plan. Get out infront of the problem, identify who will me most affected by the issue, and respopnd to them, help them. Then tell the world. The time to develop the plan is before you need it, it is much more difficult to develop a plan when you are in the heat of the crisis.

If you try to hide it, you will be found out, and both you and your company will never be trusted again.
